Today I started to ink the very first page of my wannabe comic Imago Vocis.
It's a sort of splash-page/chapter beginning with some words in it and a nice frame, trough which you can see a cityscape inspired to some shots of Pitigliano (I've been there just once, but if you come visit Italy I highly recommend this awesome town near Grosseto).
I bought some comic paper complete with rulers and all, and it's really useful (because i do hate to set the page frame by myself, I just feel it's a useless boredom)! I really liked to work on it. But my main problem is: how shall I do the inking? Which media?
I have waterproof ink, but two bad nibs (as long as I like to draw with nibs, I'm insecure with them on a small scale and I feel I'm not really able to use them to make a detailed pic, just outlines), so I think for the moment I'll leave aside the traditional ink option.
I have o.1 and 0.6 liners, but I'm really not in love with their sign, so flat.
Then we have Bic Pens.I love drawing with pens! Their sign is very controllable, you can go lightly or heavily and you can achieve an effect similar to pencil, but with ink. The only issue is that it isn't waterproof, so no copic or casual marker on it

I began the inking with the pen, we'll see if it'll be a failure or if it will be the chosen medium.
The other option was to leave the page un-inked, just pencil work, but I feel like I can achieve a clearer result, which is what I want for the comic.
I'm not gonna draw a masterpiece every frame, because I want to concentrate on the story, and the style must serve the story, it must not be an art exposition.
But I love it so much.
